Well, besides
It Follows
. That’s an automatic pick for me.

November is the portent of doom. No film maker can reproduce this.

The Babadook was pretty good, but not as horror-ish as I would have liked.
Also, go to
Cinemassacre.com and check out their Monster Madness
stuff under “Movies”. He reviews a horror movie every day in October (and has been doing so for YEARS). Each one is only a few minutes long, and it is a treasure trove of awesome horror cinema. He is also on
Youtube
, but only his most recent works.

I loved It Follows. It scared me without a single jump scare because you are always seeing the threat coming.

Lights Out was actually pretty good. Thrillers that I liked are 13 Cloverfield Lane and Don’t Breathe. Great plots with unexpected twists.

I’m not a huge fan of horror (because I am simultaneously very easy and hard to scare) but I absolutely loved 10 Cloverfield lane. John Goodman is absolutely amazing in it, as is Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
